Therapy for Individuals, Couples, and Parents in Marin County and throughout California

Welcome. I’m Jen.

I love this work—and I really believe in it. From personal experience, I know that therapy can help us when we are lost, overwhelmed, or confused. I love therapy because it leads us back to what is most important and essential in our lives: a deep, authentic relationship with ourselves, closer, more meaningful relationships with others, and a deeper engagement with life. It helps us live our lives more fully.

Healing ourselves is one of the most profound and loving actions we can take, for both ourselves, our loved ones, and the world. I would love help you experience this firsthand.

Clients have described me as authentic, warm, intelligent, curious, intuitive, and open-hearted.

There is a wise part of you that knows it is possible to feel better, but do you don’t know how to get there. I can help you find your way.

If you’re looking for a therapist, it’s likely that something isn’t working in your life.

Life may look great on the outside, but on the inside, it doesn’t feel good to be you. You may be unhappy or unfulfilled. Perhaps you know something is wrong, but you aren’t sure exactly what. You may feel that you have achieved your goals and are successful, but something is still missing. You may feel lost, when you are used to having the answers. Often, your usual ways of solving problems and achieving success aren’t working, which can make it feel even more frustrating and overwhelming.

Or, you might know the specific cause of your challenges. A big event, such as a death, divorce, or life or family change may have upended your life, and you need help finding your footing in a world that looks very different from what you expected.

No matter what you are experiencing, it is my job to help you feel better. I will get to know you as an individual, to deeply understand who you are, your strengths and challenges, and what brings you to therapy. I will help you understand where you find yourself, as well as give you the tools and understanding to move forward in a new way that feel authentic to you.

Therapy with me is:

  • Somatic

Growing up, we are taught that our mind has the answers. A somatic approach acknowledges that much of what we are trying to access in therapy—our deepest knowing as well as our traumas—lives in the body. We will slowly, gently attune to the body and use it as an untapped additional source of wisdom, helping to create a sense of wholeness and alignment.

  • Relational

Much of the effectiveness of therapy is dependent on the strength of the therapist-client relationship. Together we will build a warm, honest, authentic relationship to practice relating in new ways and to give you things you may not have received from your earliest relationships, such as deep attention, presence, and genuine positive regard and curiosity.

  • Aligned

I believe we are most fulfilled when we are living in alignment with our authentic self. However, we are often conditioned to align with societal expectations rather than our own deepest truths. I will help you connect with your authentic self and live in a way that is in integrity with this deepest, truest part of you.

  • Parts-Oriented

We all have different parts inside of us—this is how we can both hate and love someone at the same time. Getting to know and learning how to relate to these different parts of ourselves can offer insight and healing.

The answers to what you seek are inside you. Therapy is how we work together to find them.
